Oak Island Lighthouse (NC) was built in 1958.
It is the newest and strongest light (comprised of 4 rotating 24
inch parabolic mirrors and 1,000 watt, 120V AC quartz bulbs) in
the US. The lighthouse is made of reinforced concrete with
the color mixed into the wet concrete so it never needs
painting.
